The archaeological museum

The archaeological museum exhibits numerous objects found in the Roman ruins of the ancient city of Cemenelum, today the Cimiez district of Nice.
Some objects come from excavations in the region.
But it's not just the objects that make this archaeological museum so attractive. Some of them are presented in real-life situations, allowing visitors to appreciate the authenticity of the object and its use. There are also models of buildings to help visitors understand the remains outside.
This is a living museum of Nice's origins.

In the outer enclosure, numerous building foundations were discovered, mainly public baths and a few dwellings with stores.
The northern baths are in sufficient condition to recognize the various parts of the Roman baths:

Vestiary,

Hot bath (caldarium),
Interesting too, towards the western baths, the foundations of the church and its external baptistery. This was a small basin dug into the ground, accessed by steps. At the time, the baptism ceremony required the baptized to be fully immersed.
The presence of the first Christians is estimated as early as the 3rd century, including one who would become Saint Pons. A construction plan of the entire outdoor site is on display on site, along with an access map.
